Rioja is the oldest wine area in Spain, with formal wine production going back to the 12th Century. Riojas personality relies on long-ageing in Yankee oak. It is found in the northern area of Ribera del Duero. But other Spanish regions are now challenging their dominance in the wine world. Wines from Priorat in Catalonia have gone from obscurity to being the most costly wines in Spain. Antoni Gaudi has created a place where folk can just relax and enjoy the wonderful thing about art and nature together. The park was built in the years 1900 1914 and is situated on the hill called el Carmel in the Gracia district of Barcelona. At the entrance you can first see the colorful dragon fountain before the steps which lead up to the park. Gaudi was strongly influenced by natural shapes thus he used it in his work too. You will find different multicolored mosaic seats on where to rest your feet, and which are totally worth of seeing. After getting out from the metro station, its just matter of following the street signs leading to the park. The opening hours are from 10.00 to 19.00 but during Xmas and New Years period it might vary. If you're looking for a pleasant budget place to remain in Barcelona then there's good choice of rental accommodation.
The red wines are what Spain is legendary for best and the white wines used to be a final thought, but have been improved dramatically in recent times. Back in those days, it was actually the only wine experience most Brit tourists had.
